National Women's Equality Day: Amanda Burrill Spotlight
Navy Veteran, endurance athlete, global adventurer and food connoisseur, Amanda Burrill might just be superwoman. Despite the acclaim surrounding her name, Amanda has been through the wringer. The former Navy rescue swimmer suffered a traumatic brain injury during her first deployment, which led to two years of rehab and therapy for recovery from unseen ailments. Tack on a bionic foot from a series of hip and foot surgeries, and her superwoman status is instantly amplified.
While Amanda has completed marathons and Iron Man triathlons in the past, this Liquid I.V. super fan’s next feat of strength will come in September 2018. She’ll be running for 12 hours straight — on a metal-filled foot — as part of Relay for Heroes, a benefit for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. Amanda lives a “kickass life with disability” that will instantly inspire you. She’s the definition of work hard, play hard. Lucky for us, Amanda went on camera to serve you a heaping dose of inspiration in this exclusive interview.
